About the Atlanta Meetings
SRASHS will meet in conjunction with the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientist (SAAS) in Atlanta, GA at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.

Southern Region Dues
ASHS Headquarters collects and manages dues for the Southern Region. It is recommended to pay your dues with your yearly ASHS membership. If you are not a member of National ASHS, you can pay your dues through the ASHS Online Store at https://ashs.org/store/ViewProduct.aspx?id=2463036 or at the annual meetings. Dues are $30. Notice: Dues must be paid to be elected to an office or to receive an award.

Friday, January 19, 2024, by 5:00 pm EST.
SAAS Group Rates: $159/+ tax double/single/triple/quad rooms.
Check in: 4:00 pm - Check out: 11:00 am
AIRPORT: Hotel is approx.10 miles (approx.13 minutes) from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
Shuttle: Hotel does not provide shuttle service to/from airport. Click here for transportation options.
PARKING: No self-parking available at hotel.
Valet parking: $49/overnight with in and out privileges. For SAAS participants, an automatic 25% reduction will appear on your hotel bill if you valet park.
Several self-parking garages and lots are located near the hotel. Many options are available if you search “parking options near The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.”
Group Rate will be honored for 3 days before and 3 days after conference dates of Feb. 2-7 for visiting/sightseeing, if available.

Fitness Center: Complimentary access to WORKOUT Studio including indoor/outdoor pool.

Southern Region ASHS
The Southern Region ASHS is a regional scientific society of the parent scientific society the American Society for Horticultural Science. The Southern Region encompasses the 14 southern states of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Membership varies over the years from about 400 to 500 active members. Membership is composed of research scientists, teachers and extension specialist from Universities, State, Federal and private research organizations, and industry. The Southern Region also contains a student section, the Association of Collegiate Branch, which is composed of student clubs from Departments of Horticulture and Plant Science across the region. The main focus of the Southern Region is the Annual Meeting, which is held every February in conjunction with the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists (SAAS). The Annual Meeting consist of presentations of scientific papers, student paper competitions and judging contest, commodity group meetings, and awards presentations.
The Southern Region ASHS is recognized widely as the strongest and most active Region of the American Society for Horticultural Science, and has a history that goes back to 1920! Join us and become a part of the Tradition.
- Encourage and facilitate the mutual exchange of ideas and information concerning horticultural research, extension, education, and industry in the south
- Promote stronger bonds among horticulturists in the southern regions
- Encourage participation in the national society of the American Society for Horticultural Science
